Without a proper installation, even a beautifully designed and perfectly manufactured window covering can fall short. At Outlooks Design, we want to ensure that the end result is reflective of the high-quality products we offer. Our team consists of highly-trained professionals who have experience in installing all types of window treatments. Without previous experience, installing custom blinds, shades, shutters, automated systems, and fabric treatments can be challenging, which is why we prefer to install the products that we sell. Hunter Douglas Certified, our installers are among the best in the industry for installing Hunter Douglas and all other products we offer. Feedback from our customers is that our installers are friendly, efficient professionals who take care when working around delicate furnishings & accessories, and they finish their job leaving your home as clean as they found it.

Repair Services & Parts 


Ruffell and Brown, our main gallery showroom in Victoria, BC, is a Hunter Douglas Authorized Service Centre and services all brands.

Blind Repair Department Hours:

You can bring or pick up your blinds in our main showroom in Victoria located at 2745 Bridge Street from Monday to Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. Contact us to see if we can make arrangements to drop off/pick up your blinds in our Sidney location. We will have one of our repair technicians determine whether a repair is possible. Please be aware that at the time of your drop off, a $25 non-refundable deposit is due. If the repair is possible, you will be contacted with information on when to collect your blinds. Please note that you will need to leave the blind with us for a few days (sometimes longer) depending on the parts order and delivery.


If you need a part for your blind and you are not sure how to fix it, don’t worry. To make sure we find what your blind needs and that you have the correct repair instructions, we will ask you for some specific information about your window coverings. 

To help us help you, here are some pieces of information we will ask:

  • Age of your product. 
  • Product’s name or type (for example: Duette, Silhouette, vertical blind, wood blind).
  • Product’s operating system (for example: cord loop, cordless, standard cord lock, motorized).

We will also assist you with repairing broken cords on blinds, cutting down blinds, and making custom length drapery tracks. You can choose to have the repair done in your home or in our store. Please be aware that in-home trip charges applicable to all in-home repairs are not covered by manufacturers’ warranties. The warranties cover the parts and labour for the repair.

Please note: Products are changed by manufacturers frequently. Some replacement parts for older blinds may not be available or match exactly to the original part.
