Sophisticated Neutrals

Helping our clients with their West Coast home décor was a dream. We’ve worked with them over several years on a variety of projects, including creating custom drapery for multiple curved windows for their master bedroom, child’s bedroom and their media room.  Their abode is an ocean paradise with beautifully constructed fir window liners, so it was critical that the drapery allowed an uninterrupted view out when open. We ensured a minimal stack, even with the room darkening drapery.

The ripplefold headings offer clean lines, uninterrupted from floor to ceiling, and the custom tracks follow the curved window systems in synchronized harmony. The selection of linen fabrics – sheer in the master, light filtering lined for media, and blackout lined in the child’s bedroom – offers a cohesive element when moving from room to room. Linen embodies the ocean and beach feel, keeping it fresh and organic.

From this starting point, we added bespoke pieces, including a king platform bed in the lower master (which later became a guest suite). We incorporated a contemporary design with button detail to soften the strong lines. The custom stained supports match the eucalyptus flooring as well as the piping on the frame. We brought in custom bed linens including the duvet, shams and cushions to finish the room. Best of all, they’re washable, child and pet friendly.

Later on, after a lengthy renovation, we worked on the window coverings and another king platform bed in the upper master suite, with stunning results. We installed sun control sheers, which keep the glare down and maintain the view, on European track systems that allow sheers to stack into the corner of the window or on the wall space beside.
